Jim Carey has pulled every instant Oscar trick in the book, to largely overwhelming success (although I haven’t seen I love you, Philip Morris yet) and Sunshine football 2018 shirt. he still gets little official credit. All because he started by talking with his ass cheeks. In Man on the Moon, he plays Andy Kaufman who, it has been speculated, suffered from a host of psychological disorders. Convincing crazy (especially in a biopic) is usually pretty good for a nod. I can’t stand Jim Carey in his comedic roles. The Truman Show and ESotSM, however, are excellent films and he is excellent in them.

But if it looks like it’s going to be a comedy in the style of his earlier films, I’ll likely avoid it. I can’t stand Jim Carey either, but I agree with you. ESotSM is my favorite movie. And even though it’s an odd pairing, I thought he and Kate Winslet worked really well together. I don’t find his over-the-top humor funny at all. Not that I’m implying this is your particular situation, but when I first saw it I loved it but was continually depressed that I didn’t have any memories worth wiping or that I would resist losing if they were wiped. I still love it, but now I connect on a different level since I have things worth fighting for. The idea of someone who you thought loved you erasing you from their memories as a way of dumping you is pretty heartbreaking.
